George Conway Sends Message to Donald Trump Voters

One of Donald Trump’s most vocal critics has issued a warning to those planning on voting for the former president in the 2024 election.

George Conway, a lawyer who was previously married to Trump’s former senior adviser Kellyanne Conway, took to X, formerly Twitter, to make his bold statement.

“Before you vote for Donald Trump, you should have to pass one test: recite the names of all the American law enforcement officers who were attacked at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021,” he wrote.

Conway’s declaration was added to a repost of Dan McLaughlin, a reporter for the conservative news site, National Review.

McLaughlin had written: “Before you vote for Joe Biden, you should have to pass one test: recite the names of all the American hostages currently held by Hamas.”

Conway’s post referred to the insurgency which occurred at Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. on January 6, 2021, after Trump’s election loss to Joe Biden the year before.

Trump has been accused of allegedly inciting the riots during a speech he held that day at the National Mall, where he declared the results of the 2020 election to be unlawful and said he would “never concede” the election.

Around 174 officers were injured that day and one died, 42-year-old Brian Sicknick.

Conway also took aim at former President Trump on Monday when he challenged the judge overseeing Trump’s classified documents case to rule in his favor.

Special Counsel Jack Smith charged Trump with 40 federal counts relating to him allegedly illegally retaining sensitive national security documents after leaving office. Trump has denied the charges against him.

But Conway said on X that Judge Aileen Cannon, who was appointed by Trump in 2020 and has been accused of issuing rulings perceived as favorable to the former president, should approve the defense’s request to rule against prosecutors.

Trump’s defense had requested Cannon rule that the prosecutors committed civil contempt requesting a gag order for Trump.

“Do it, Judge Cannon. DO IT,” Conway wrote.

Smith asked Cannon on Friday to review Trump’s bail conditions and issue a gag order preventing him from making statements that posed a danger to law enforcement, because Trump had claimed in campaign emails that ​​the FBI was planning to assassinate him while searching his Mar-a-Lago estate in August 2022.

Trump’s lawyers responded by asking Cannon to reject the gag order and to pursue civil contempt findings against “all government attorneys who participated in the decision to file the motion.”

Conway spoke further about the defense’s request on Friday, saying that it puts Cannon “on the spot.”

“This woman has absolutely completely shown an absolute bias against the government from Day One. In multiple ways, she’s dragging her feet on this case and if she does not do something about this, I think the special counsel will use this as the opportunity to try and get the 11th Circuit to get rid of her. So she is really on the spot here,” Conway told CNN.

The sensitive documents case is one of four criminal prosecutions Trump is facing, including the criminal trial that is currently happening in Manhattan. That trial relates to hush money payments he allegedly made ahead of the 2016 election. Trump denies charges in all cases.
