Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire secure semifinal spots in WAFU B U-17 Championship
In the ongoing WAFU B U-17 AFCON qualifying tournament, hosts Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire have advanced to the semifinals, eliminating Benin in the process.
Ghana’s young team showcased their strength by defeating Benin 2-0, securing their position at the top of Group A with two consecutive wins. The victory was sealed with two first-half goals, demonstrating Ghana’s dominance in the tournament.
Meanwhile, Cote d’Ivoire secured their spot in the semifinals by overcoming Benin to finish second in their three-team group.
With these results, Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire will progress to the semifinals, where they will face the overall winners and runners-up of Group B.
Group B features Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets and Burkina Faso, who are currently leading the standings as they head into the final group games tomorrow.
The semifinal matches are scheduled to take place on Saturday, adding anticipation and excitement to the tournament as the young teams vie for a chance to advance further in the competition.
