West Ham vs Liverpool (3-2) Nov 7, 2021 Match Preview and Stats
Liverpool will be without Roberto Firmino for a period of action after the Brazilian suffered a hamstring injury in the Champions League victory against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday.
The Brazilian was actually a substitute in the game against Los Colchoneros and came off the bench at half-time, only to be withdrawn in the 78th minute.
With Firmino not available up top, it should be a relatively simple decision for Jurgen Klopp to deploy Diogo Jota, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah as his front three versus West Ham.
Alisson will start in goal behind a likely defence of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson
Joel Matip and Konstantinos Tsimikas started the Atletico game, but Klopp may bring in Konate for some further minutes, while Robertson remains first-choice at left-back despite his Greek team-mate impressing in his absence.
Curtis Jones is out with an eye injury and joins other midfielder absentees James Milner, Naby Keita and Harvey Elliott.
Thiago is pushing for a start but Klopp may opt for the same midfield three that started against Atletico – Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Oxlade-Chamberlain, in particular, was excellent in the Champions League.
Mane, Jota and Salah will start up top.
