Man Utd 2-0 Granada Player Ratings: Cavani seals easy win
Manchester United moved through to the semi-finals of the Europa League with a 2-0 win over Granada on the night, 4-0 on aggregate.
If there were any doubt about the outcome of the tie, it was surely settled early on when Edinson Cavani struck from a Paul Pogba assist after just six minutes. A late on goal added to Granada’s misery.
Man Utd thereafter were in cruise control, with the Spaniards unable to lay a glove on them – as had been the case for much of the first leg.
They face Roma in the semi-finals.

Only given an hour to play, but only required six minutes to effectively put the task beyond Granada. Mason Greenwood’s cross was flicked on by Pogba and Cavani met it with a blistering left-footed volley – the 50th European goal of his career and first for Man Utd.
If nothing else, that blow served to deflate the visitors as the comfortable tone was set for the night.
It was an evening upon which the magic of the Portuguese playmaker was not fully required, but he remained in good service to his side. His best moment came around 10 minutes before the break, when he sent a sweet volley from a seemingly impossible angle narrowly over the top. This was the period he was at the peak of his play.
Taken off with 10 minutes left to give Juan Mata some game time.
A strong showing from the full-back, who will have impressed England boss Gareth Southgate with his all-round performance in this encounter. In particular, he left nothing go past him, winning his personal duel with Darwin Machis with some ease.
Another to be taken off before the end in a bid to reserve his energy for greater tests.
