Man City vs Tottenham (2-3) Feb 19, 2022 Match Preview and Stats
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola will likely welcome Kyle Walker back into the starting XI for this weekend’s Premier League clash against Tottenham.
Walker was suspended during the week as Man City dispatched Sporting Lisbon 5-0 in the Champions League, but is available to return against former club Spurs in domestic action on Saturday.
City were imperious in the last-16 first leg fixture against the Portuguese giants, with Bernardo Silva scoring two and Raheem Sterling, Riyad Mahrez and Phil Foden getting on the scoresheet too.
In that game, John Stones came into the back four but the England international could drop to the bench to accommodate Walker, who will return at right-back.
Aymeric Laporte, Joao Cancelo and Ruben Dias will likely retain their spots.
Guardiola doesn’t have as many rotation options in midfield and attack as usual at the moment as Jack Grealish and Gabriel Jesus continue to be doubts.
Grealish has missed the last two matches due to a shin injury and will be assessed closer to the game, but a start is not probably.
Rodri, Kevin De Bruyne and Silva will likely continue in the midfield three which means a place on the bench again for Ilkay Gundogan.
With Jesus and Grealish unavailable, expect Sterling, Foden and Mahrez to continue as the front three.
