Mike Tyson predicted to go the distance in betting market

CAN Mike Tyson really beat Jake Paul?

The 58-year-old will face the YouTuber turned boxer in the early hours of Saturday morning (UK time) at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Their main event and undercard will be shown live on Netflix in front of a huge worldwide audience.

Tyson will lace up the gloves in a professional capacity for the first time in 19 years after a 56-fight career which included winning the undisputed heavyweight championship.

The Bet365 betting markets will be busy in the lead-up to the main event and while Tyson is the overall underdog (33/20) there has been support for him in the ‘to win fight’ market. Fifty-eight per cent of those bets are on Tyson with 42% on Paul.

Elsewhere, 37% of bets in the ‘fight outcome’ market are currently place on Tyson to win by KO/TKO/DQ.

Tyson’s early years were full of early knockouts with ‘Iron’ Mike only going the distance six times. In Bet365’s ‘fight to go the distance’ market a majority 65% believe YES Tyson vs. Paul will go the eight-two minute round length.

Bet365’s trading expert Steve Freeth has had his say: “The early business means this bout has all the makings of an extremely busy fight. Jake Paul is on the drift with people believing that Mike Tyson can turn back the clock and we’ve seen plenty enough over recent weeks to shorten his price from 12/5 into 33/20. We’ve also seen noticeable business on Tyson winning in both Round 1 and Round 2 with the mind-set possibly being that if he’s going to win then he’s going to win early. We’re in the Jake Paul corner right now”
