Margielyn Didal returns to competition in winning fashion
MANILA, Philippines—Filipino skateboarder Margielyn Didal announced her return to the international stage in a big way after winning the Red Bull Buenos Aires Conquest women’s event in Brazil on Sunday (Manila time).
Didal’s title-winning comeback came almost a year after suffering a foot injury.

Didal competed against 23 of the world’s best, including skaters from South Africa, the Netherlands, France, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Uruguay, Brazil, Argentina, and the Philippines.
The skaters battled in a 1 on 1 elimination format where they had three minutes to show their skills and impress the judges.

Roos Swetzloot and Aldana Bertran completed the podium where Didal reigned victorious after months of recovery.

Injuries haven’t been too kind for Didal in recent years.
She missed the 2024 Paris Olympics due to a fractured ankle. She also participated in the 2023 Asian Games, where she was the defending champion, but finished last due to nagging ankle pain.

Meanwhile, Gabryel Aguilar of Brazil reclaimed his spot as the men’s division champion.
