CELSIUS Energy Drinks Confirms Sponsorship of Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson Heavyweight Fight on Netflix
CELSIUS Energy Drinks has officially announced its sponsorship of the much-anticipated heavyweight boxing match between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson, scheduled to air live on Netflix.
The bout, set for November 15, 2024, will be broadcast from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, starting at 7 pm CT (8 pm ET, 3 am GMT). Jake Paul, who has grown from YouTube fame to professional boxing with success, will face off against the legendary Mike Tyson, making his first professional return since 2005.
Jake Paul has had a strong partnership with CELSIUS since 2023.
“I’m thrilled to be part of the CELSIUS family,” Paul said. “As a fighter and co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions, I’m all about pushing boundaries and bringing the best to the sport. Whether it’s preparing for fight night or organizing game-changing events like this one, CELSIUS keeps me energized and performing at my peak. It’s a game-changer, just like what we’re doing at MVP.”
Meanwhile, Mike Tyson, a former undisputed heavyweight world champion, is making headlines with his return to the ring of professional boxing. Known for becoming the youngest heavyweight champion in history and his ferocious fighting style, Tyson’s rejuvenated presence in boxing adds plenty of excitement to this matchup. His famous history has set a high bar, making this fight a critical event for both new and veteran fans of the sport. Though there were recent health concerns due to an ulcer, Tyson has resumed full training, ready to resume his iconic legacy in the ring.
CELSIUS’s involvement in this event extends beyond conventional sponsorship. The brand will be hoping they can keep the audience energized throughout fight week with sampling stations showing off its latest flavors. Additionally, the company will take center stage with its logo prominently placed on the fight mat and through the ‘Essential Energy Highlight of the Fight’ segment, where crucial moments of the main event will be featured.
Kyle Watson, Chief Marketing Officer of CELSIUS, is excited for the fight:
“Our sponsorship enables CELSIUS to strengthen our relationships and forge emotional connections with our global consumers through sport.
“This is a great opportunity to further activate our brand in this space and bring functional energy to viewers, attendees, and fans around the world on fight night.”
The age difference between Tyson and Paul is unprecedented in professional boxing history, as Tyson, at 58, leads by over 30 years against the 27-year-old Paul.
From a financial perspective, the stakes are high. Although official figures have not been disclosed, reports suggest significant earnings for both fighters, with Jake Paul allegedly poised to earn $40 million, while Tyson is expected to bank approximately $20 million.
CELSIUS’s involvement coincides with its recent expansion into the UK market, where it launched four energy drink variants: Peach Vibe, Sunset Vibe, Cosmic Vibe, and Fantasy Vibe. If you fancy trying them, they can be found at Tesco Express.
