Four injured in King’s Lynn after firework lands in crowd
Four people were injured during a Bonfire Night display in Norfolk after a firework from outside the event landed in the crowd.
It is thought a record 20,000 people attended Fawkes in The Walks in King’s Lynn on Friday evening.
West Norfolk Council, which organises the event, said the firework came from outside the display.
Its events team said doctors and paramedics were on site and they treated four people for minor injuries.
“Each [injured person] received treatment for minor injuries and was thankfully able to leave the park afterwards,” the council said.
“Although we make a great effort each year to discourage fireworks or sparklers in the park, the firework that entered the crowd was from a property outside our event.
“Thankfully we had sufficient experts on hand to deal with this. Our thoughts are with the four who were injured and we wish them a speedy recovery.”
