Tottenham v Manchester City: Will Ange Postecoglou guide Spurs to second-season success?

Time is something not often afforded to the modern-day manager.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s first Manchester United trophy came in his third season in charge and his first league title during his seventh. Today, Ferguson may not have been granted the opportunity.

And going without a trophy in the first season, then winning one in the second, is not common in the Premier League.

Postecoglou would join a pretty exclusive list which includes Pep Guardiola, Roberto Mancini, Louis van Gaal and Mourinho.

It was during Mourinho’s second season at Chelsea that he guided them to the EFL Cup, beating Spurs 2-0 in the 2015 final.

Guardiola won nothing with Manchester City in his first season at the helm, before securing the Premier League and EFL Cup in his second.
