Onyeka Provides Assist In Augsburg’s Win Vs Schalke
Frank Onyeka had an assist in Augsburg’s 3-0 win against Schalke 04 in Round 2 of the DFB-Pokal (German Cup) on Tuesday night.
It was Onyeka’s second assist in all competitions for Augsburg since he joined them on loan from Brentford in the summer.
The Super Eagles star set up Claude-Maurice for the opening goal in the 26th minute.
Arne Maier made it 2-0 with three minutes left while Samuel Essende added the third in the 90th minute.
After impressing for his side, Onyeka was replaced by Maier in the 58th minute.
Augsburg have never won the DFB-Pokal in their history, their best performance is a semi-final feat in the 2009-2010 season.
The reigning champion of the DFB-Pokal are Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen.
