Bengals News: Tee Higgins Ruled Out vs Eagles After Late Week Injury

The Cincinnati Bengals will have to take down the Philadelphia Eagles without the services of star wide receiver Tee Higgins as he has been ruled out. He popped up late in the week with a quad injury and has faced a battle trying to get ready for the game.

NFL insider Tom Pelissero reported the news on social media.

Without their star wideout, Cincinnati will have to rely on others if they want to keep their winning streak going. However, it has been easier said than done as Higgins has helped to unlock the Bengals’ offense.

Higgins gives this Bengals team another strong offensive weapon for quarterback Joe Burrow to throw the ball too. Alongside co-star Ja’Marr Chase, Cincinnati uses their two-star wideouts to keep defenses on their toes at all times.

Cincinnati has battled back after a rough start to the season and they sit with a record of 3-4 on the year. If they are able to take down the Eagles, they will be at .500 heading into their bye week.

The defense has started to play much better in recent weeks, giving some life to this team. However, the injury to Higgins is a little concerning, especially considering that he missed multiple games early on in the year.

For the Bengals to do anything of substance this season, Higgins will need to be healthy and on the field. He is a catalyst of their offensive attack and they are limited without his services.

On the season, Higgins has caught 29 passes for 431 yards and three scores. He was a major factor in the win over the Cleveland Browns last week, grabbing four passes for 82 yards and a touchdown.

The former Clemson product has emerged as one of the better pass-catchers in the NFL when he is healthy. He is due to be a free agent at the end of the season after not being able to come to terms with the Bengals on a deal.

Cincinnati needs to pay both Higgins and Chase but Chase has become more of the priority. This has left Higgins in the dark and he will likely walk out the door once the season is over.

Many have speculated whether the Bengals could look to trade Higgins before the trade deadline to avoid losing him for nothing. But Cincinnati seems focused on turning this season around and making a run in the postseason.

Getting a win over the Eagles would help but others will need to step up with Higgins out for this contest.
