40 years of Jim McColl on Beechgrove Garden

Former Beechgrove Garden presenter Jim McColl has died aged 89.

The TV stalwart had hosted the BBC Scotland gardening programme from its inception in 1978 until he retired in 2019.

Colleagues on the programme have paid tribute to him, describing him as “a local hero first and a Scottish national treasure next.”
