Today’s ‘Wordle’ #1,225 Clues, Hints and Answer for Saturday, October 26
Wordle is celebrating its three-year anniversary having been introduced to the world in October 2021.
Millions of people take a few minutes out to tackle the addictive word quiz every day. For many, Wordle has become a part of their routine, which creator Josh Wardle probably did not imagine when he was perfecting the game during the coronavirus pandemic.
The New York City-based software engineer created the word game to amuse his partner but it became bigger than that, with people gripped when they tried it. It ended up being sold to The New York Times in 2022 and its success is now the stuff of legend.
So How Does It Work?
The game resets every night at midnight, so with every new morning comes a fresh crack at the puzzle.
Users have to guess a different five-letter word each day and only have six attempts to do so. The answer is hidden behind little tiles and with each guess they are turned around.
If the tiles are gray it means that letter isn’t in the word at all and can be omitted from future guesses. Yellow tiles indicate that the letter is in the word but that it is in the wrong place. And the longed-for green tiles mean that the letter is in the answer and in the correct place.
The answer to today’s Wordle will be revealed at the end of this article so make sure you scroll down the page very carefully if you want to avoid the spoiler and work it out for yourself.
