Diddy Sends Message to 2-Year-Old Daughter From Jail
Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek’s network of contributors
Amid Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sex crimes scandal, the embattled rapper paid tribute to his youngest child on her 2nd birthday.
On Tuesday, October 15, Diddy’s official Instagram account posted a series of photos of Love Sean Combs, whom the Bad Boy Records CEO shares with Dana Tran.
The pictures included two images of Love, clad in a little white dress, posing with her hands full of frosting during a cake smash photo shoot. The other two pictures in the social media slideshow were with Diddy — one of baby Love standing next to him; the other of a smiling Diddy holding his youngest daughter in the ocean.
“Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday baby Love! Happy Birthday to you!! ❤️🫶🏽,” the caption read. “Happy Birthday @loveseancombs daddy loves you 🎂🎉🎈.”
Diddy, 54, is currently behind bars at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn as he awaits trial on three federal charges: racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution it is unclear who posted the upload to his account; the comments on the post are disabled.
Diddy is the father of seven children — all of whom are supporting the disgraced hip-hop mogul amid his legal downfall.
The “I’ll Be Missing You” artist was surrounded by family last week during his court appearance, during which his trial date was set for May 5, 2025. Diddy’s kids — in addition to Love, he is dad to sons Quincy, 33, Justin, and Christian “King,” 26, as well as daughters Chance, 18, and D’Lila and Jessie, 17 — all left the courtroom holding hands. His mother, Janice Combs, was also there in support of her son.
Love’s mother is thought to be supporting Diddy as well. Prior to the 2022 birth of their daughter, Diddy — who has been known as multiple monikers throughout the years, including Puff Daddy and P. Diddy — briefly went by “Love” and “Brother Love.” After the rapper’s arrest in mid-September, Tran was spotted out with their daughter while wearing jewelry that spelled out “Love,” leading some to surmise that her accessories could be seen as signs of support for Diddy.
In addition to the federal charges against him, the Sean John designer is facing sexual assault accusations from more than 120 people — including men, women and minors.
His legal team has categorically denied all accusations.
“In court, the truth will prevail,” Diddy’s attorneys told TMZ on Monday, October 14. “Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted anyone — adult or minor, man or woman.”
