A woman and her two huskies have died after being hit by a car in the Highlands.
The 40-year-old was out walking the dogs at about 21:45 on Friday when the crash took place on the B9152 near Granish Junction in Aviemore.
Emergency services were called but they died at the scene. The 20-year-old male driver of the grey Peugeot 207 was not injured.
The road was closed while police carried out investigations and reopened at about 08:00.
Sgt Calum MacAulay said officers believed the woman had been in the town just prior to the crash.
He urged anyone who may have seen the collision or was driving in the area at the time who may have dashcam footage of the woman or car to contact police.
