Reese Witherspoon Shares Rare Photo of Lookalike Son Tennessee, 12

Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek’s network of contributors

Reese Witherspoon’s two eldest children may pose for many photo ops with their famous mom — but rarely does the Oscar winner share pictures of her youngest child, Tennessee.

However, the Legally Blonde star, 48, made an exception to post a sweet birthday tribute to her preteen son on Friday, September 27.

“Happy 12th Birthday to my wonderful son, Tenn! 💙,” Witherspoon, who shares Tennessee with ex-husband Jim Toth, captioned the instagram photo. “I’m so lucky to have your joyful, curious, hilarious spirit in my life, making me laugh everyday. I love you, buddy 🥰.”

Witherspoon and Tennessee were all smiles in the snap, with the Big Little Lies actress putting her arm around her son and tilting her head so it leaned on his. For his part, Tennessee — clad in a blue Hawaiian shirt — flashed the camera a grin, his blond hair perfectly matching Witherspoon’s same towhead hue.

While the Election star rarely shares any photos of Tennessee, she does celebrate his birthday every year on instagram, sharing photos of his 10th birthday in 2022 and his 11th in 2023.

In addition to Tennessee, Witherspoon is also mom to her eldest lookalike kids, daughter Ava, 25, and son Declan, 20, whom she shares with her first husband, Ryan Phillippe.

When announcing her split from Toth in March 2023, Witherspoon released a statement that, in part, shared how Tennessee was her and Toth’s “biggest priority” as they navigated the breakup.

“Our biggest priority is our son and our entire family as we navigate this next chapter,” she wrote via instagram at the time. “These matters are never easy and are extremely personal. We truly appreciate everyone’s respect for our family’s privacy at this time.”
