Men’s Hundred | Twitter reacts to valorous Vince dent Welsh as Brave’s leapfrog to the top
Choosing to field first after winning the toss didn’t quite pay dividends for the Welsh Fire as their new ball bowlers failed to capitalise on the overhead conditions. Openers, James Vince and Alex Davies chalked their way to a 55-run opening stand before Haris Rauf outsmarted the latter in the ninth set. Leus Du Plooy entered the scene and smacked a couple of sixes before falling to Matt Henry as the score read 97/2 after 67 balls. Kieron Pollard assisted Vince to his consecutive half-century in the tournament, thus setting up a 139-run total on the back of an unbridled 50-ball 73.
In response, the Welsh side failed to get a commanding partnership inside the powerplay as the Southern Brave pacers reaped rewards of exerting dot ball pressure inside the powerplay. Jonny Bairstow and Luke Wells departed in a space of a ball before Joe Clarke and Tom Abell followed a similar pattern with the score reading 55/4 in 12 sets. Subsequently, Tom Kohler-Cadmore followed suit before Glenn Phillips succumbed to the building pressure. David Payne and Matt Henry trailed a similar path with the score reflecting 83/8 in 17 sets. David Willey fought against the odds before a couple of wickets in the penultimate set folded Welsh for 97.

Slill and attack
Southern Brave shaping as the team to beat in the men’s Hundred this year: filled with experience (10 out of tonight’s XI aged 29 or older), variety and skill in their attack, and James Vince in superb form with the bat

Good at everything
Also, how good is James Vince in everything he does

Quite a talent
James Vince 73 off 50 balls, it’s quite a talent of the man the way he rocks back and hit the pace bowlers for the boundaries, then use his feet against the spinners and hit the straight sixes and he is so consistently delivering as the English player showing his great ability.
