Key moments from Biden’s first speech after quitting race
In a rare televised address from the Oval Office, President Joe Biden says he ended his re-election campaign to unite his party and country.
The 81-year-old says it is time for new and younger voices to lead, and praises Vice-President Kamala Harris’s experience.
Mr Biden stepped aside as the Democratic candidate for November’s election and endorsed Ms Harris on Sunday, following weeks of pressure after his disastrous debate against Donald Trump last month.
