Cowboys’ CeeDee Lamb Argues With Former Dallas WR Cole Beasley On Social Media
The Dallas Cowboys are still waiting to see if star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb will end his holdout and join the team. Training camp is set to begin on July 24, and time will tell if Lamb will continue to attempt to strongarm himself into a new deal.

While the Cowboys await this matter, Lamb took it upon himself to remind a former Dallas receiver just how good he is at the receiving position. The former receiver in question is Cole Beasley, who played for the team between 2012 and 2018.
The entire interaction began with Beasley offering some advice on a training video showing Lamb getting ready for the 2024 season.
Beasley responded to the training video, stating, “Man just do some heavy squats and power cleans….”
Naturally, this led to a fan chiming in by reminding Beasley that his stats paled in comparison to Lamb’s.
The fan is Cassidy Ace, who responded to Beasley with, “Is Cole really trying to tell CeeDee how to train 🤣? Beasley has literally never eclipsed 1k yards. Lamb is averaging 1,286 yards a year and 599 yards short of Cole in 4 years vs 11.”
Beasley also responded to the fan, stating, “Give me 180 targets off the couch and I eclipse 1000. Stop looking at stats and check the tape. As far as getting open goes…I’m confident I did that with the best of them.”
Lamb finally caught wind of the interaction and also responded in kind.
Lamb states, “I don’t need 180 targets to touch a band. Pull up tape, I’d match you route for route on getting open. Just Chill. @Bease11.”
Beasley has not played in the league since he was released from the New York Giants practice squad in 2023. In his 11-year career, the only time Beasley came close to eclipsing 1,000 yards was in 2020 when he secured 967 yards on 107 targets with the Buffalo Bills. Beasley’s career-high targets was in 2021 when he was targeted 112 times, but only produced 693 yards.
Lamb, on the other hand, was targeted 181 times in 2023 and secured 1,749 yards. Beasley’s mention of 180 targets seems to be directly targeting Lamb, resulting in his response on X.
Lamb also stated that he does not need 180 targets to produce 1,000 yards, which is proven by his 2021 and 2022 seasons. In 2021, Lamb produced 1,102 yards on 120 targets, and 1,359 yards in 2022 on 156 targets.
Lamb continues to showcase his elite skillset and has only gotten better each season. There is a big reason why he is holding out to secure a new contract from the Cowboys. Though arguing with a former play on X is not the way to go about getting an extension, no one can argue with the results that Lamb has presented.
