49ers’ Legend Jerry Rice Goes Off on Reporters, ‘I Will F*** You Up’
It seems that former NFL legend Jerry Rice hasn’t lost any of his fiery attitude. While playing at the American Century Championship, Rice was asked some questions by reporters that seemed to upset him.
Specifically, the Hall of Famer was asked about the Kansas City Chiefs’ receiving core for the upcoming season. Something didn’t sit well with him apparently. Rice responded pretty strongly and went off on the reporters.

“I will f**k you up” he said, along with, “If you want some, come get some!”
The incident was recorded in a video published by TMZ.com. The reporters identified themselves as members of Starcade Media. Rice apparently took the question as a shot at his former team, the San Francisco 49ers. Kanas City beat the 49ers in the Super Bowl this past season, so Rice likely believed it was them throwing shade toward his old team.
“I’m going to defend the San Francisco 49ers,” he told reporters. “This is my history.”
The journalists released a statement saying that they meant no disrespect to Rice or the San Francisco 49ers and that they would love to speak with him again.
“We meant absolutely no disrespect to Jerry or the 49ers when asking this question,” they said. They added that they’d love the opportunity to discuss things further with the Hall of Famer.
Unless something else took place, it seems that Rice may have crossed the line with the reporters. Even if they were taking a shot at the 49ers, he didn’t have to verbally go at them. The former wide receiver loves the 49ers and clearly will do whatever it takes to defend them. He played 16 seasons with San Francisco, helping them win three Super Bowl titles along the way.
Rice is regarded as one of the greatest wide receivers to ever play in the NFL and is still very well respected around the league. He finished his career with 1,549 catches for 22,895 yards and 197 touchdowns. Rice averaged 14.8 receiving yards per catch during his time in the league.
Following his split with the 49ers, Rice joined the Oakland Raiders for four seasons and then the Seattle Seahawks for one year. This incident was a strong one and out of the blue for the legend. He normally is a level-headed former player but it seems that emotions got the best of him in this situation.
